KH Summary:
Since 1922, Kittson Healthcare prides itself on providing continuous service to the citizens of Kittson County and surrounding areas. Today, Kittson Healthcare is a twelve-bed acute care federally designated Critical Access Hospital and fifty bed long term care facility which also includes a home healthcare agency, 8 bed assisted living facility and an ambulance service. There is a medical clinic located in the complex as well as a satellite medical clinic in Karlstad, Minnesota. We strive to treat every patient or resident that walks through our doors with highly personalized care. Our patients are not just numbers. They are family, neighbors, teachers, and community members.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00

Close Working Relationship With: Staff Nurses, DON, Dietary Staff, Housekeeping Staff, Residents, AND Resident Family Member(s)

Job Summary:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will play a crucial role in providing direct care and support to our residents under the supervision of licensed nurses. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Monitoring residents' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
Assisting with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting and safety techniques.
Providing emotional support and companionship to residents.
Assisting with meal preparation and feeding.
Helping to maintain a clean and organized environment for residents.
Documenting residents' care and observations accurately and timely.
Provides support to Basic Care Aide (BCA) while the BCA works along side of CNA.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Proficiently be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must be able to work independently and be able to work effectively as a team member.
Must be able to work with frequent interruptions, maintaining a high degree of concentration.
Excellent Communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Possess problem solving skills.
Knowledge of geriatric care and activities of daily living (ADLs).
Familiarity with use of bathing products and equipment.
Commitment to quality/infection control.
Excellent time management of one’s own time and time of others.
Ability to participate and self-educate for job related needs.
Knowledge of charting, care plans, and shift schedule practices.
Must possess ability to support, encourage and strive for excellent level of care, which accommodates each resident in the ability to be independent and promotes their overall well-being.
Must have the ability to adapt to personalities of residents and/or coworkers and use tact in all forms of communication.
Passion for customer service.

Qualifications:

High School Graduate or GED. Must be 16 years or older.
1-year general geriatric care experience (preferred).
Current MN Certificated Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Must pass MN background check and fingerprinting.
Complete TB test within the first 3 weeks of employment.

Job Schedule/Location(s):

Hallock, MN
Full-time or Part-time or Flex
Shifts morning 6:00am-2:30pm, evening 2:00pm-10:30pm, and 10:00pm-6:30am
Every other weekend and every other holiday availability
Nursing Home/Long-term care and Hospital setting
