Summary

This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, with in the Associate Director - Manufacturing. As a Deputy Associate Director of Manufacturing, you will be be a key member of the BEP leadership team with responsibility for supporting the manufacturing operations strategy and its execution.

Duties

As a Deputy Associate Director of Manufacturing, you will:

Provide leadership in the areas of manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, planning, and manufacturing support functions.
Coordinate with alternate facility (DCF or WCF) and implement initiatives including the planning for production processes and acquiring production-related equipment.
Harmonize operating standards and processes with orientation toward consistency at multiple manufacturing facilities to achieve production goals with maximum enterprise-wide efficacies and efficiencies.
Provide high level oversight of production and manufacturing support functions.

Undergo a tax compliance review.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-15, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

Planning, coordinating, or leading large scale, industrial manufacturing or production operations consisting of 100+ employees or working in a related field that directly supports manufacturing/production. AND
Ensuring delivery of high quality, secured products through effective oversight, accountability, and continuous improvement efforts. AND
Assisting in driving improvements in equipment efficiency, work practices, and service quality, using established methodologies and performance management. AND
Reviewing and applying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), leveraging strong computer and data analysis skills.

This announcement uses the Rule of Many, a numerical ranking process under which eligible applicants receive a numeric score based on the assessment process for the position. Only applicants who are eligible for veterans' preference receive 5- or 10-point veterans' preference points, which are added to passing scores, as applicable. Applicants are then listed on the certificate in score order, and preference-eligible applicants are listed ahead of non-preference eligibles with the same score. Qualified preference eligibles with a compensable service-connected disability of 10 percent or more are listed at the top of the certificate in rating order.

This announcement uses the cut-off score referral method under 5 CFR 332.402(b)(1). Applicants who achieve or exceed the established cut-off score of 90 will be referred for consideration. If fewer than three eligible and available candidates per vacancy are available, we may lower the cut score in accordance with our pre-announced supplement strategy and applicable policy until a minimum of three candidates per vacancy are eligible to be referred. The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for workdays during the shutdown period.
This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting."
