Romp Pet Resort is looking for a Pet Care Coordinator to help lead our pet care team and make sure every four-legged guest receives the safe, comfortable, and exceptional care they deserve.
This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk position. Our Pet Care Coordinator is a hands-on leader who works alongside the team, helps keep the resort running smoothly, and steps in when and where they're needed.
You'll work closely with the Resort Manager to oversee daily pet care, support our Resort Attendants, maintain our standards for safety and cleanliness, and help create an environment where both pets and people can thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee the day-to-day care, safety, and comfort of the pets staying and playing at Romp.
- Perform all functions of a Veterinary Resort Attendant and jump in to provide hands-on pet care when needed.
- Make sure our guests have safe, secure, clean, and comfortable housing.
- Work with the Resort Manager to enforce boarding and daycare protocols related to pet care, handling, and safety.
- Ensure pets meet vaccination and preventative requirements before entering the facility.
- Keep a watchful eye on our guests and make sure medical, behavioral, or comfort concerns are recognized and addressed appropriately.
- Help maintain clean and safe housing, grooming, daycare, and play areas.
- Promote and enforce proper sanitation, husbandry, and disease-prevention practices.
- Help develop and implement policies and protocols that improve workflow, efficiency, teamwork, and productivity.
- Provide feedback to the Resort Manager and/or administration regarding pet care, staffing needs, scheduling, workflow, and other operational concerns.
- Lead by example and help make sure our standards are consistently followed.
- Perform all responsibilities in accordance with Romp's core values.
- Pitch in with other duties as needed—because in animal care, no two days are exactly the same!
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can be a leader and a teammate.
You'll be a great fit if you are:
- Passionate about animals and providing exceptional pet care.
- Dependable, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility.
- Confident providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
- Able to recognize when a pet may have a medical, behavioral, or comfort concern and know when to escalate it.
- Comfortable working in a busy, physical, sometimes messy environment. (Dog hair is basically part of the uniform!)
- A strong communicator who can work effectively with employees, management, and administration.
- Willing to jump in and help instead of standing on the sidelines.
- Flexible when the needs of the resort or your team change.
About the Schedule
Romp operates seven days a week, so this position requires schedule flexibility.
Weekend availability is required, and some evening work will be necessary.
As a member of the resort's leadership team, the Pet Care Coordinator is also expected to help provide coverage when Resort Attendant shifts cannot otherwise be filled. This may occasionally require adjusting your normal schedule or coming in to cover an open shift, including evenings and weekends.
We don't expect you to do everything—but we do expect our leaders to step in and support their team when they're needed.
Why Romp?
You get to spend your days helping create a safe, clean, fun, and comfortable environment for pets while also helping develop a great team of people who love animals as much as you do.
If you're the type of leader who isn't afraid to grab a leash, clean up a mess, help a coworker, solve a problem, and make a dog's day better along the way, we'd love to meet you!
