Scattered Acres Reinholds, Inc. is a multi-generational, family-owned dairy farm in Reinholds, Pennsylvania. We milk more than 1,000 cows three times daily in a modern dairy facility and are committed to high-quality milk production, excellent animal care, safe operations, and a strong team culture.
We are looking for a dependable, mechanically minded Dairy Farm Facilities Manager who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving, and keeping a busy dairy operation running smoothly.
Position Summary
The Dairy Farm Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining and repairing farm facilities, milking systems, mechanical equipment, electrical and plumbing components, and livestock housing systems. This role helps prevent downtime, supports animal comfort and milk quality, and responds quickly when urgent repairs are needed.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair milking parlor equipment, milk tanks, pumps, pipelines, wash systems, compressors, vacuum systems, and related equipment.
- Handle general farm maintenance, including barns, fans, sprinklers, gates, stalls, waterers, fencing, doors, concrete, mechanical rooms, and shop areas.
- Perform basic electrical and plumbing troubleshooting and coordinate outside service when specialized repairs are needed.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and occasional after-hours emergencies to keep the dairy operating safely and efficiently.
- Maintain parts, tools, and supply inventory and communicate purchasing needs to management.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and recommend improvements for equipment reliability, safety, and daily operations.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and environmental practices while working around livestock, machinery, and farm equipment.
What We’re Looking For
- Two (2) or more years’ experience maintaining agricultural, dairy, industrial or commercial equipment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and repair equipment problems.
- Basic electrical, plumbing, welding, fabrication, refrigeration, compressor, vacuum system, or hydraulic experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize urgent repairs, and communicate clearly with management and team members.
- Schedule- While the schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, the successful candidate will need to be available on occasional weekends and holidays for emergency calls or repair work.
- Comfortable working in an active dairy environment around livestock, equipment, moisture, noise, odors, dust, and changing weather.
- Strict adherence to safe work practices and willingness to wear necessary personal protection equipment (PPE) required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company Motor Vehicle Record requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting Pay: $30.00 per hour, with higher starting wages considered based on qualifications and relevant experience.
- Paid Vacation: One week during the first year; two weeks annually beginning in the second year.
