Job Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Chiropractic Assistant/Front Desk! This energetic role combines administrative excellence with compassionate patient service, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all patients and families. You will be the first point of contact, managing patient intake, scheduling appointments, and supporting clinical staff with essential documentation. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help foster a positive environment where patients feel cared for and valued. This is a part time position with set hours.

Duties

Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional front desk experience
Manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and facilitate insurance verification processes
Collect and review patient information, including medical history and documentation review for accuracy and completeness
Handle medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding for accurate recordkeeping
Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) confidentiality policies
Operate multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and provide exceptional customer service
Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems) like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix
Assist with clinic operations including intake procedures, medical office management, and office management duties
Ensure compliance with health information management standards and clinical confidentiality policies

Experience

Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred, especially in chiropractic or dental settings
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Strong knowledge of medical billing, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, and health insurance policies including Medicare
Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills including 10-key typing for data entry accuracy
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Experience working with health insurance providers and understanding of clinical documentation review processes
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information
Strong organizational skills with clerical experience in filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing electronic health records
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly over the phone and in person in a professional manner
