We are currently seeking to fill the following position:
Job Title: Director of Facilities and Maintenance

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The purpose of this position is to support the company’s needs by providing strategic leadership, planning, and execution of all facilities, maintenance, and capital project activities for the manufacturing organization. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of buildings, grounds, and production machinery while leading maintenance personnel, managing budgets, and coordinating internal and external resources. The Director plays a critical role in risk mitigation, operational continuity, and long-term planning, including consolidation of operations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities & Building Management
- Oversee all aspects of building, grounds, and utility maintenance to ensure safe, functional, and compliant facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead initiatives to mitigate risk of injury and ensure a safe working environment for employees and contractors.
· Ability to comprehensively manage a CMMS system to track work orders, develop inventory systems, scheduled maintenance programs and more
· Development of Critical Spares Inventory
· Work with Production Management to strengthen equipment/tooling preventative maintenance program
Maintenance & Equipment Oversight
- Direct preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance programs for manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Ensure equipment reliability, uptime, and performance to support production goals.
- Establish maintenance standards, schedules, and best practices to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Oversee troubleshooting, repairs, and root-cause analysis of equipment failures.
Capital Projects & Project Management
- Identify, plan, and manage capital projects including facility upgrades, equipment installations, expansions, and relocations.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and return-on-investment justifications.
- Coordinate and manage internal teams, vendors, and independent contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Lead and coordinate consolidation of operations, including facility transitions, equipment moves, and process alignment.
Leadership & Employee Relations
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance employees and supervisors.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, training, and employee relations matters within the department.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
- Ensure maintenance staff are properly trained on equipment, safety procedures, and compliance requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies across all facilities and maintenance activities.
- Partner with safety and HR teams to address incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
- Ensure contractors and vendors adhere to all safety and compliance standards while on site.
Budget & Inventory Management
- Develop, manage, and control departmental budgets, including maintenance, facilities, and capital expenditures.
- Monitor spending and implement cost-control strategies without compromising safety or reliability.
- Manage and monitor parts, tools, and materials inventory to ensure availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Establish vendor relationships and negotiate service contracts and pricing.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Select, manage, and evaluate vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Coordinate external project work and maintenance services to align with operational schedules and safety requirements.
- Ensure quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness of all outsourced work.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience: 8-10 Years of progressive experience in facilities and maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, building systems, and maintenance best practices.
- Proven project management and budgeting skills.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and building code compliance.
- Ability to lead teams, manage change, and resolve employee relations issues effectively.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and vendor management skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and leading maintenance teams.
