Ravalli County Council on Aging (RCCOA) is seeking a seasoned leader and manager to lead the organization and build on its excellent record of providing exceptional service to older citizens of Ravalli County.
The Organization
Incorporated as a non-profit in 1979, RCCOA serves the entirety of Ravalli County. RCCOA provides services to older (60+) and non-elderly community members with moderate needs. The offices are located at 310 Old Corvallis Road, Hamilton, Montana.

Our Services
- Nutrition programs: Meals on Wheels, congregate meals served at senior centers and other off-campus locations, bi-monthly distribution of food through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
- Information and Assistance: Counseling on Medicare and health insurance options, assistance with connecting to resources, caregiver support services.
- Money Management: Financial management assistance to persons 60+ and 60- with moderate needs.
- Transportation: On-demand transportation service to 60+ and general public.
- Ombudsman: Certified ombudsman who protects the rights of residents of long-term care facilities.
- Medical Alert Devices: We provide fee-based devices to help clients age in place safely.
- Volunteer Services: We connect people who wish to provide volunteer assistance to older people in the community.
- Community Loan Closet: Durable medical equipment available for loan to all members of the community.
RCCOA is governed by a board of directors. The organization has 21 FTE with 30 staff members and an annual operating budget of approximately $2 million.
The Position and Key Responsibilities
RCCOA is seeking an executive who will partner with the board and staff and lead the organizational change process to build on past accomplishments and further expand the impact of providing services to older citizens in Ravalli County. Reporting to the board of directors, the executive director will provide leadership and manage day-to-day affairs. The executive director will also be responsible for working closely with the community, cultivating financial and other support, managing the programs and overseeing paid and volunteer staff. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide overall strategic leadership and vision in partnership with the board.
- Nurture and expand programs and key external relationships.
- Provide advice, counsel, and support to the board of directors.
- Manage the organization’s resources and ensure fiscal responsibility and security.
- Oversee the programs, business operations, and finances through a leadership team and build and lead the organizational team.
- Ensure all federal and state reporting is timely completed.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working or serving on or with boards of directors.
- Focused with experience motivating, directing, and organizing people and projects with limited resources.
- Proficient in Microsoft software, including Word and Excel.
Preferred:
- A BA/BS in human services related field, which may be substituted with relevant experience.
- At least five years’ experience in a management role.
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience ($65,000 - $90,000). Benefits include a QSEHRA, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, and a SIMPLE IRA contribution match. The position will have a one-year probationary period with quarterly employment reviews.
