As Streamline Wireline continues to expand its OSP construction operations in Montana, we are looking for an experienced Field Supervisor to join our team in Ravalli County, just south of Missoula.
This is a hands-on field leadership role supporting the Construction Manager and overseeing the day-to-day execution of a large-scale OSP construction project performed by subcontractor crews.
Position Details
- Location: Ravalli County, MT
- Position: Full-time
- Engagement: W-2 or 1099
- Work Environment: Primarily field-based
- Local candidates are strongly preferred due to our long-term plans in the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Construction Manager with day-to-day field execution.
- Oversee and coordinate approximately 8–10 subcontractor crews performing OSP construction.
- Monitor daily field production, footage, progress, and subcontractor performance.
- Verify daily production and completed quantities reported by subcontractors.
- Ensure construction is completed according to prints, project specifications, scope, schedule, and client requirements.
- Monitor the quality of completed work and ensure deficiencies and punch-list items are corrected.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with safety requirements, PPE standards, company policies, and client requirements.
- Coordinate daily work priorities, crew locations, and construction sequencing.
- Track subcontractor manpower, equipment, and field production.
- Identify and help resolve field issues, including utility conflicts, access issues, damages, restoration concerns, and other construction obstacles.
- Coordinate with inspectors, locators, client representatives, and other field stakeholders as needed.
- Maintain accurate daily field reports, production records, photos, and supporting documentation.
- Report production, quality, safety, scheduling, and subcontractor performance issues to the Construction Manager and Operations.
- Communicate project status, delays, risks, and field needs to company leadership.
- Participate in weekly in-person meetings with county officials and professionally represent Streamline in field-related discussions.
- Conduct field meetings with subcontractors as needed and help keep production moving according to project priorities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of OSP field supervision or closely related telecommunications construction experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSP underground construction and directional boring/HDD operations.
- Experience overseeing and coordinating multiple subcontractor crews simultaneously.
- Ability to read and understand construction prints, specifications, and field documentation.
- Strong understanding of production tracking, quality control, and field safety.
- Ability to verify completed work and identify construction deficiencies.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating professionally with subcontractors, inspectors, client representatives, and local/county officials.
- Ability to work independently and make sound field-level decisions.
- Comfortable working primarily in the field and adapting to changing construction priorities.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
