We are seeking a passionate and organized Program Coordinator to help lead and support BELN’s educational programs, family services, and community initiatives. This position plays a key role in program planning, implementation, partnership development, and participant engagement while supporting BELN’s commitment to children, families, and community well-being.

Position Overview:
The Program Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, evaluation, and daily operations of BELN’s programs and services. This position works closely with staff, families, community partners, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality programming that aligns with BELN’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
This is a full-time, salaried position that includes administrative responsibilities, community outreach, family engagement, and direct participation in programs serving children and families throughout the Bitterroot Valley.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and implement programs that support children, families, and community partners.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify program needs, opportunities, and strategic priorities.
- Support grant development, fundraising efforts, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee program implementation to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor program outcomes and utilize participant feedback to improve services and experiences.
- Coordinate staffing needs, scheduling, and program logistics.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to program staff through regular communication and collaboration.
- Foster a positive team culture centered on respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, community partners, businesses, funders, and stakeholders.
- Represent BELN at community meetings, workshops, events, and collaborative initiatives.
- Coordinate participant enrollment, onboarding, communication, and program documentation.
- Track budgets, expenses, program data, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, licensing requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Lead and support current BELN programs, including family support services, community workshops, outdoor education programs, and special events.
- Conduct program evaluations and utilize data to support program development and decision-making.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and communications for staff, families, community partners, and funders.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain knowledge of current best practices in early childhood education and community-based programming.
- Become licensed through the State of Montana as a substitute educator and maintain required certifications and credentials.
- Spend regular time in BELN programs building relationships with children, families, and staff.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Human Services, Outdoor Education, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with computer applications, data management systems, and office software.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to travel locally for meetings, trainings, workshops, and community events.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events and programming.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience in program coordination, program management, or nonprofit administration.
- Experience working in early childhood education, family support services, community development, or advocacy.
- Knowledge of child development and early learning best practices.
- Grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development experience.
- Experience facilitating outdoor education, nature-based learning, or place-based programming.
- Experience building partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting at $22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and education

Physical Demands
This position involves both office-based and community-based work and may require participation in outdoor activities including hiking, walking, skiing, swimming, and other recreational experiences.
Employees must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. The position also requires regular computer use, communication with participants and community members, and the ability to work effectively in dynamic and occasionally high-stress environments.
