CPN Legal is seeking a detail-oriented Reporting & Data Solutions Analyst to join our growing team supporting law firms with financial and operational reporting. This role focuses on building and maintaining custom Excel-based reports that help law firm owners and managers monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), manage compensation, and make data-driven decisions about their business.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient with data, has strong Excel skills (including macros), and thrives in a collaborative environment where creative problem-solving and process improvement are valued. This role will work closely with team that designs and maintains customized reporting tools that combine data from multiple systems into easy-to-use dashboards and reports.

Primary duties & Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and enhance custom Excel-based reports or other software dashboards from scratch to be used by law firm clients.
- Develop and maintain Excel macros and formulas to automate reporting processes.
- Integrate and consolidate data from multiple systems into standardized reporting formats.
- Ensure reports are accurate, consistent, and delivered on schedule.
- Validate and reconcile data from various financial and operational systems including Quickbooks and Clio.
- Identify trends, inconsistencies, or anomalies in data and escalate issues when necessary.
- Support ongoing enhancements to reporting tools and templates.
- Collaborate with clients and internal team members to understand client reporting needs.
- Assist with implementing new reporting structures or KPI tracking frameworks.
- Contribute ideas to improve report usability, automation, and efficiency.
- Assist with system conversions or implementation projects as needed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows.
- Document processes and maintain clear reporting procedures.
- Support the development of scalable reporting solutions as the business grows.
- Create and utilize APIs and data connectors to extract, integrate, and automate the flow of data between systems such as QuickBooks, Clio, or other platforms
- Recommend and implement improvements to reporting architecture, automation capabilities, and data management processes.
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and functions, data validation and reconciliation, and excel Macros
- Experience with API programming to access online systems
- Experience with reporting and business intelligence tools such as: Power BI, or similar reporting platforms
- Strong ability to combine and transform data from multiple systems and sources.
- Knowledge of database concepts, data structures, and reporting best practices.
- Experience working with financial, accounting, and operational data.
- Ability to interpret KPIs and business performance metrics and translate them into meaningful reporting solutions.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years experience working with data sets and building reports
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (advanced formulas)
- Experience with API programming to access online systems
- Experience with Excel macros, VBA, Power Automate, Visual BI, or Power BI preferred
- Experience with tools to extract and manage data from complex databases
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience combining data from multiple systems preferred
- Familiarity with financial, accounting, or operational reporting
- Experience working with KPI dashboards or business performance reporting
- Exposure to accounting or law firm operations
- Prior experience participating in software implementations, conversions, or data migration projects preferred

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
