Join our team as a Clubhouse Manager! We are seeking a qualified professional to assist in operating the clubhouse with a heavy focus on a wide range of golf programming at Great Parks! Our team members work together to preserve and protect natural resources and to provide outdoor recreation and education in order to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations.
A successful Clubhouse Manager assists the General Manager with day-to-day golf clubhouse operations and plays a large role in the creation, implementation, and facilitation of golf programming. This includes but is not limited to: supervision of the golf sales counter, merchandise display, reservations, golf card fleet, Driving range, snack bar, lesson programming. Hires, trains, and schedules part-time clubhouse, snack bar staff, and program staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the General Manager with day-to-day functions of the golf course clubhouse including: golf sales counter, merchandise display, snack bar, outdoor patio areas, restrooms, online/phone/in-person tee-time reservations, reservable rooms, outings and tournaments, room rentals, golf cart fleet, driving range, and , practice areas, and educational programs, depending on course assigned). May be required to work fill-in shifts for absences and provide assistance during peak activity times.

Works with guests to maintain appropriate pace of play on courses; determines optimal starting times; pairs golfers and performs other duties to promote guest satisfaction and enjoyment.

Accounts for daily cash transactions; complies with all cash handling policies and enforces cash control procedures including: POS operation, daily deposits, shift/change tills, required logs and regular cash audits.

Monitors and replenishes resale inventory of food, merchandise and motor vehicle permits; purchases equipment and operating supplies; conducts regular physical inventory checks.

Initiates purchases and checks invoices; prepares purchase requisitions; adheres to purchasing card procedures and submits expenditures for supervisor approval.

Directly supervises assigned part-time staff; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Great Parks’ policies and applicable laws, and delegated authority. Assists General Manager with disciplinary issues; plans and delegates work assignments; schedules staff for assigned areas; trains employees; provides guidance; resolves work issues and ensures work complies with Great Parks’ policy and performance standards; manages labor budget.

Coordinates the lesson/program calendar, registration, and processing for their assigned facility. Creates and manages all programs via the reservation and POS system. Makes recommendations to the General Manager for new programs and clinics.

Maintains responsibility for the performance and safe operation of assigned facilities; ensures equipment is maintained according to agency standards; documents food safety and alcohol training.

Promotes facilities through daily public relations with customers; receives and resolves guest concerns and complaints; analyzes and promptly resolves problems; implements corrective actions or provides recommendations as necessary.

Works and communicates effectively with other departments, leadership, peers and subordinates; attends and participates in meetings; completes required training.

Leads and assists with golf instructional programs and tournaments; works directly with league and golf outing representatives; assists with special events at assigned facilities.

Continues to develop skills within the PGA program, growing the game of golf, and increasing awareness to instructional programming.

Performs job duties in accordance with Great Parks’ policies, procedures, and performance expectations.

Maintains confidentiality of confidential and sensitive information.

Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is: High School Degree or GED and a least 4 years’ of work experience which evidences knowledge of business management principles, or an Associate’s Degree in parks & recreation or business management with 1 year of work experience in a related field.

Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
LICENSE & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License that meets current GPHC carrier guidelines.

Certificates of successful completion of ServSafe Food Safety and TiPs Alcohol programs within 1 year of employment.

Class A Member of Golf Course Superintendents Association of America or a PGA Associate Level 1 in good standing.
