Full Job Description

Wolf Point Engineers and Contractors is currently seeking an experienced structural designer / drafter.

The selected candidate will report to the Vice President of Engineering and the Structural Engineering Manager as part of the structural engineering team designing structures for conveyors, towers, bridges, buildings and their associated structures and foundations to support specialized industrial machinery as well as tunnels, vaults and retaining walls. Proficient knowledge of design of structural steel and cast-in-place concrete is a must and experience in designing masonry or marine structures is of benefit.

The candidate will need to know how to use structural design software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and/or Advance Steel. 3D modeling experience using Revit or similar is required. The candidate will be responsible for creating designs per the direction of in-house engineers and outside subcontractors in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications. The candidate will also be required to review steel detailing models and drawings, as well as be able to do some shop drawing work on occasion. Travel may be required for specific circumstances, but would be infrequent.

Primary Responsibilities

Coordinate design activities with other engineering & design disciplines
Create or review 2D cad drawings, sketches and 3D design models
Perform design and constructability reviews
Review shop drawings

Other Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of experience
Autodesk Certification Revit for Structural Design or similar desired
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or design related field
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs, primarily Excel and Word
Able to use and navigate Navisworks models
Experience with detailing software such as TEKLA or SDS/2 is of benefit
Must have good communication skills and be fluent in English language
Must have good time-management skills and be able to shift tasks quickly
Must have legal right to work in the United States. Immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided
