Full Job Description

The Executive Chef / Kitchen Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the dietary department of an Elderly Focused Facility, ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals, exceptional dining experiences, and compliance with all health and regulatory requirements. This role oversees kitchen operations, staff, budgeting, purchasing, menu planning, food safety, and special events while maintaining efficient and cost-effective operations.

Essential Responsibilities

Lead and supervise all kitchen and dietary staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
Plan and oversee the preparation and service of nutritious, high-quality meals that meet preferences and dietary needs.
Create and update menus, recipes, and seasonal offerings.
Manage food, supply, and chemical purchasing while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and controlling costs.
Develop and manage the dietary department budget, monitoring food and labor expenses.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen through routine cleaning, sanitation, and equipment maintenance.
Coordinate holiday meals, special events, catering, and community functions.
Monitor satisfaction and continuously improve the dining experience.
Maintain required records, logs, and documentation for regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of culinary management experience, preferably in healthcare, hospitality, or institutional food service.
Previous supervisory experience required.
Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, purchasing, inventory management, and budgeting.
ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
