Location: Central Wilmington/College area
Pay: $25-$26 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8am to 4pm
Start Date: Monday, August 3rd (flexible for the right candidate)
A family of 3 new to the Wilmington area (fresh transplants from Chicago, still figuring out where the good coffee is) is looking for their next great nanny match. Their son is 18 months old, obsessed with music and dancing, an even bigger fan of reading books, and — by every account — one of the most easygoing, universally-loved babies around. If you've ever wanted a toddler who thinks you're a rock star just for reading him a tenth book in a row, this is your sign.
The Gig
Start Date: Monday, August 3rd (flexible for the right person)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, 40 guaranteed hours a week.
Eventually, the family may also want the nanny to travel with them once or twice a year and with plenty of advance notice.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Leading structured, educational play — think books, music, movement, and outdoor time (this family is screen-free and loves a nanny who can bring creativity to the day)
- Planning age-appropriate activities that grow with him
- Handling meals, bottles, diapering, and the general rhythms of toddler life
- Keeping his space tidy and his belongings in good shape
- A little household support on the side (mainly during nap time or when schedule allows): running the dishwasher, handwashing dishes if needed, folding family laundry, washing child’s laundry, general tidying (not the main event, just good teamwork)
They’re Ideal Match
- Nurturing, communicative, and quick to respond (texts, photos, the whole loop)
- A nanny who brings the structure and initiative — no winging it, no waiting to be told what to do next
- Early childhood education background is a big plus
- Spanish speaking preferred, though not required
Requirements
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to get certified) and able to pass a background check
- Provide 3-4 professional references
- Prior toddler care experience
- Able to walk up and down stairs carrying 30+ pounds, active and energetic
- Reliable and willing to care for sick children
- Open and communicative with parents
- Comfortable with 1 dog (hypoallergenic)
Compensation & Perks
- $25–$26/hour, on the books
- 40 guaranteed hours per week
- 10 paid vacation days (5 your call, 5 theirs)
- 5 paid sick days
- Paid major holidays off
- This is a family thinking long-term — 2–3+ years, with real potential for a second little one down the road
Start Date: Monday, August 3rd (some flexibility on start date for the right candidate)
If you're the kind of nanny who shows up with a plan, not just a diaper bag — this family is ready to meet you.
