Job description:

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Staff Pharmacist provides support, supervision, and strategic oversight of pharmacy operations while owning analytics, reporting, reconciliation, and program development in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager. This role supports multi-site pharmacy operations, enhances patient care, and ensures alignment with organizational and strategic goals. The position functions as a support level role and serves in a manage capacity when needed.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides leadership and supervision to paid pharmacy staff
Supervises pharmacy technicians, volunteer pharmacy technicians, and students
Helps creates monthly staff schedules and staff development programs
Provides supervision, coaching, and mentoring to pharmacy staff
Helps with pharmacy staff training, including onboarding and ongoing development
Facilitates corrective and disciplinary actions in collaboration with Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Director, and HR
Performs Pharmacy Manager duties in the absence of the Manager

OPERATIONAL & PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and implements pharmacy policies, procedures, and protocols
Creates, maintains, and enforces pharmacy workflow standards
Ensures proper handling and documentation of incident reports
Oversees timely processing of patient assistance program applications
Fills patient prescriptions and responds to provider clinical questions
Provides pharmacist coverage for PTO, sick time, and staffing gaps as needed
Maintains a consistent schedule of site visits to engage providers and healthcare staff on capture rate performance

ANALYTICS, REPORTING & FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT

Coordinates monthly financial reporting and analysis, including:

- End-of-Month reports (RxLog and RxPOS)

- Internal audits and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)

Tracks and reports daily prescription volume
Reviews and analyzes capture rate performance by site and provider
Collaborates with Finance on reconciliation and reporting
Develops and manages pharmacy budgets and annual implementation plans

STRATEGIC & INTERDEPARTMENTAL COLLABORATION

Actively engages in interdepartmental collaboration to enhance patient care and programmatic goals
Collaborates with the Senior Director and department heads to support optimal organizational structure
Develops and implements new pharmacy programs, including refill programs, dispensaries, and other growth initiatives
Supports P&T Committee participation and pharmacy administrative initiatives
Collaborates with healthcare staff to optimize EMR integration

QUALITY & COMPLIANCE

Participates in quality improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

Current Georgia Pharmacist License (PharmD preferred)
3–5 years of pharmacy experience
3–5 years of supervisory and management experience
2–3 years of ambulatory care and/or community health center pharmacy experience
Previous program planning experience preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of pharmacy technology systems
Familiarity with challenges faced by low-income and underserved populations preferred

SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday(Hours of operation:8am-6pm)
One Saturday a month as required (9am-1pm)
