Full Job Description

Job Summary:

Perform various fabrication tasks in an industrial setting. Primary duties include fabrication/welding of structural steel packages for residential and commercial customers. Focus on layout and welding of beams, channels, tube steel, angle and various shape steel. Must be able to use handheld plasma to cut beams and heavy tubing. Must be able to read shop drawings and operate a forklift. Forklift training can be provided.

Must have the following experience and skills:

Ability to read shop drawings
Handheld plasma experience
Grinder Experience
Steel layout experience
Mag drill experience
Forklift experience
Material handling experience
Ironworker experience a plus but not required

We are a small job shop, and we complete many different types of projects on a daily basis. The duties of this position will likely change from day to day depending on where assistance is needed. This job includes a lot of welding, but fabrication skills are required as well.

Primary job responsibilities:

· Read and understand shop drawings on a job by job basis.

· Use our shop equipment to fabricate components as needed with focus on structural steel. We use forklifts to work structural steel.

· Work with another team member to fabricate larger or heavier items as needed. Must be able to work with heavier material at times. (at least 50 lbs)

· Stock material as needed.

· Clean up and sort scrap as needed.

· Prep and clean material for painting.

Further Notes

· Must be able to work as a team in an outdoor and open air shop setting.

· Safety equipment and tools are provided for your use.

· NOTE: Employee is responsible for their own steel toe boots, proper work attire and tape measure.

· We offer accrued PTO and paid holidays after a 3 month probationary period.

· Hourly wage is based on previous experience and reference feedback. Fabrication and welding experience is required. Welding certification is a plus. 1-2 years steel structural welding experience is required.

· The company will pay for the employees’ health, vision and dental insurance after a 3 month probation period. We also offer a retirement program and match up to a 3% contribution.

· Normal business hours are Monday – Thursday from 7:30 am to 5 pm with a 30 minute lunch. Friday from 7:30 am until 11:30 am. The opportunity for overtime may arise from time to time and it is optional.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
