Full Job Description

Central Valley Meat Company is a family-owned company in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. Its founding over 30 years ago started an unwavering tradition of producing beef at its finest. As an industry leader, Central Valley Meat Company controls all aspects of beef production from our feedlot to our innovative processing facility. The end result is wholesome, grain-fed beef known throughout the west for quality, consistency and delicious flavor.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and operational direction to the fabrication team.
Have prior experience in the use, care, and proper maintenance of knives and safety equipment.
Be non-judgmental and objective based when dealing with people and situations.
Ability to assume a leadership role, with creative, patient, and strong interpersonal skills.
Maintain a Good Attendance and Safety Record.
Responsible for following and communicating the policies and procedures as defined in the employee handbook.
Ensure that all processing activities are in conformance with product specifications.
Balance quality, productivity, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
Conduct inspections, constantly monitor all work areas for cleanliness and ensure that product contamination is kept to a minimum.
Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Assure that all employees follow company policies, procedures, and established work instructions.
Oversee training/ cross training of assigned staff, appraise performance and initiate discipline process.
Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum of 4-yrs experience in meat industry
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, SOPs, USDA
Regulatory knowledge related to processed products (i.e USDA FSIS Appendix A and Appendix B)

Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years related experience in a management capacity
Meat industry experience preferred, processed products
Food processing industry experience required
