Full Job Description

Removal Technician / Mortuary Transporter – Full-Time
Maryland Cremation Services | Millersville, MD (Anne Arundel County)

Maryland Cremation Services, a licensed funeral home and crematory, is seeking a full-time Removal Technician (also known as a Mortuary Transporter or Funeral Driver).

This is a serious role in the funeral profession. We are looking for experienced individuals who understand the nature of the work and have a genuine interest in serving families during difficult times. This is not a position for someone simply exploring a new career.

Compensation

$20.00 – $31.00 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

Serve as the first in-person representative of the funeral home when meeting families
Transport deceased individuals from locations throughout Maryland (hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, residences, OCME, and the State Anatomy Board) to our facility
Communicate with families and facility staff with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication
Assist in the crematory as needed
Occasionally support office and case management duties
Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience as a mortuary transporter or in a funeral home setting (required)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Reliable personal vehicle for commuting to work
Ability to perform heavy lifting unassisted
Strong communication skills and a calm, professional demeanor
Familiarity with common removal locations (hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, etc.) preferred
Availability for some overnight on-call shifts and weekends
Maryland mortuary transporter or crematory operator license is a plus

This position requires maturity, empathy, and the ability to work around the deceased with respect and composure.

Pay: $20.00 - $31.00 per hour
