Full Job Description

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for managing project timelines, coordinating cross-campus collaborations, supporting research and grant activity, maintaining systems for tracking outcomes and deliverables, and helping translate ideas into organized, executable plans. The Project Manager will work closely with the Director of the Teevens Center, Faculty, Athletics and Recreation Staff, Campus Partners, Students, and external collaborators to support applied and translational initiatives that connect sport, leadership, wellbeing, and human performance.

The role will serve as an integral member of the Teevens Center team, helping develop and achieve project objectives, communicate project status to leadership, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, and support the successful operation and growth of the Center.

The Project Manager for Research & Innovation plays a critical role in advancing the Teevens Center for Peak Performance’s research, innovation, and center-wide strategic initiatives. While this position will provide primary project management support for the Center’s Research & Innovation portfolio, the role is intended to support projects and priorities across the Teevens Center as needs evolve.

The Teevens Center for Peak Performance is hiring a Project Manager for Research & Innovation to help run one of the most distinctive initiatives in college athletics: a center connecting varsity performance, campus-wide student programming, and faculty research under one roof, a model no other Ivy League peer currently runs. This is effectively the Center’s first full-time hire alongside the Director, which makes it a genuinely important role with real room to grow as the Center’s initiatives scale. The ideal candidate is organized and diligent, on top of details without needing to be told twice, but also brings ideas to the table and thinks creatively about how to solve problems. They’re collaborative by nature: comfortable working independently, but just as comfortable building relationships across faculty, coaches, students, and administrators from very different corners of the college. They bring energy to the work, and they’re excited rather than deterred by ambiguity, since this is a new role in a one-year-old Center, not a fully paved path. We’re especially looking for someone AI-native: someone who thinks in terms of what AI tools can do for project management, grant tracking, reporting, and communications, not just someone who’s used them a few times.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp

Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

3-5 years of relevant project management, research coordination, higher education, athletics, health, wellness, human performance, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables in a complex organization.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems appropriately.
Experience contributing to reports, presentations, web content, communications, or other written and visual materials.
Familiarity with, or interest in learning about, human performance, sport science, health and wellness, leadership development, applied research, or innovation.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Faculty, Students, Staff, Senior leaders, and external partners.
Comfort working with project management tools, online data collection systems, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and communication platforms.
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience in a project coordinator, project manager, research coordinator, program operations, or center operations role.
Experience in higher education, collegiate athletics, academic research, student development, health and wellness, leadership development, or human performance.
Understanding of research design, data collection, implementation, evaluation, or applied research methods.
Experience supporting grants, internal funding processes, faculty collaborations, research administration, or research compliance workflows.
Experience planning events, seminars, workshops, conferences, visiting speaker programs, or multi-stakeholder convenings.
Experience with WordPress or other website tools.
Experience with Qualtrics, Zoom, Canva, Outlook, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, project management platforms, or similar systems.
Ability to translate complex ideas into accessible materials for varied audiences.
Interest in implementation science, translational research, innovation ecosystems, interdisciplinary collaboration, or applied human performance.
Experience supporting communications, storytelling, reporting, or content development for a center, department, program, or initiative.
