What You'll Be Designing
As a Control Room Systems Engineer, you'll design complete audiovisual and visualization solutions for mission-critical environments while serving as the technical leader throughout the project lifecycle.
Working alongside our sales, operations, project management, and field engineering teams, you'll develop innovative solutions that balance performance, reliability, usability, and budget.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing complete control room and command center solutions from initial concept through final implementation
- Meeting with clients to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
- Developing detailed scopes of work and engineering documentation
- Creating system schematics, signal flow diagrams, equipment layouts, rack elevations, floor plans, cable schedules, and Bills of Materials using industry-standard software
- Engineering video wall systems, operator workstations, KVM systems, visualization platforms, AV distribution, control systems, and network-connected technologies
- Collaborating with architects, consultants, IT departments, electrical engineers, general contractors, and owner representatives throughout project development
- Providing technical guidance to the sales team during the solution development process
- Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending the best solution for each client
- Supporting factory testing, onsite commissioning, customer acceptance, and project closeout activities
- Maintaining engineering standards, documentation quality, and design consistency across projects
- Participating in manufacturer training, trade shows, and continuing education to remain current with evolving technologies

QualificationsRequired
- Minimum three years of experience designing commercial AV systems, control room environments, or other complex audiovisual solutions
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, or related field preferred)
- Experience developing AV system designs and comprehensive Bills of Materials
- Proficiency creating technical documentation using AutoCAD, Visio, D-Tools, Stardraw, or similar engineering software
- Strong understanding of commercial AV system architecture and integration principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer-facing presentation and consulting abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Valid driver's license
Preferred
- CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, or other AVIXA certifications
- Experience designing mission-critical control rooms or command centers
- Experience with Barco, VuWall, RGB Spectrum, Samsung, Crestron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Cisco, or similar enterprise technologies
- Knowledge of enterprise networking fundamentals
- Experience supporting system commissioning and customer acceptance testing
Schedule
This is a full-time position.
Typical hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support customer meetings, commissioning activities, or project deadlines.
