Job Description
A dynamic industrial products operation is in need of a reliable second-shift assembly team member to construct, inspect, and ready engineered reel-style products and associated subassemblies. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in hands-on production work, values meticulous and precise assembly, and can execute written instructions, work orders, drawings, and verbal guidance in a collaborative manufacturing setting.
The role entails mechanical assembly, fundamental electrical-related assembly tasks, parts identification, measuring, quality checks, material handling, and production documentation. Candidates with previous experience in assembly, shop work, industrial equipment, blueprint reading, drill press operation, sawing, soldering, or hand tool usage may be a great match; nevertheless, individuals with a strong mechanical inclination and a readiness to learn will also be considered.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assemble engineered product units and smaller component groups according to drawings, work orders, standard procedures, and production instructions.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, small shop equipment, and basic production machines to construct, repair, and prepare parts and finished product.
- Operate tools and equipment such as drill presses, saws, resistance welding equipment, soldering equipment, and more to complete tasks.
- Read and interpret engineering prints, assembly drawings, part descriptions, and written instructions to ensure correct assembly.
- Identify standard and metric hardware, understand bolt and socket relationships, and select appropriate materials for production.
- Measure parts using tools such as tape measures, calipers, test equipment, and inspection tools.
- Conduct inspections to ensure product quality before continuing production or shipment.
- Handle parts and finished goods carefully to prevent damage and maintain accurate inventory.
- Report material shortages or production issues to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records as required.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform additional production, assembly, inspection, or material handling tasks as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience is helpful.
- Ability to use measuring tools and follow work procedures accurately.
- Basic math skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Previous exposure to assembly, shop work, or industrial equipment is a plus.
- Must be quality-focused, safety-conscious, and reliable.
- No supervisory responsibility is expected for this role.
