Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial K12 public school system operations and drive sustainable growth. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will oversee all aspects of financial management, including district accounting, risk analysis, regulatory reporting, treasury management, and strategic planning. This role requires a proactive leader with extensive experience in financial analysis, industry regulations, and business development to ensure fiscal health and support organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership, management skills, a deep understanding of financial concepts in k-12 public school system, and the ability to proactively inform board members to assisted in decision-making at the highest level.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, including revenue management and profit & loss optimization.
Oversee corporate accounting functions ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), IAS (International Accounting Standards), and ASC 606 standards.
Lead financial reporting efforts by interpreting financial statements, preparing detailed reports, and communicating insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Manage risk analysis processes, including risk management frameworks such as COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance.
Direct treasury functions including cash flow management, banking relationships, investment strategies, and supply chain finance.
Oversee budgeting processes, cost control initiatives, expense management, and financial forecasting analysis to support strategic planning.
Guide financial activities by conducting market analysis, valuation assessments, due diligence.
Lead a high-performing finance team through supervision, mentorship, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in financial software utilization and technical accounting practices.

Skills

Extensive experience in finance directorship roles with proven leadership in senior management environments.
Strong knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations and compliance standards such as GAAP, IFRS, IAS.
Expertise in financial analysis, modeling, projection development, and interpretation of complex financial statements.
Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced financial software tools for accurate reporting and data analysis.
Demonstrated ability in risk assessment, risk management strategies, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Skilled in corporate finance activities including fundraising for business development initiatives and strategic negotiations.
Exceptional strategic planning capabilities combined with a solid understanding of market analysis and business development principles.
Proven track record in managing budgets, cost control measures, expense oversight, payroll management, and supply chain finance.
Excellent communication skills for financial report writing and interpretation tailored for diverse audiences including senior leadership and board members.
