Mammography Technologist Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety while adhering to best practices in medical imaging. The Mammography Technologist will play a crucial role in the early detection of breast cancer, providing essential support to patients and collaborating with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Perform mammography examinations with precision and accuracy, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort.
Maintain aseptic techniques and adhere to safety protocols to minimize risks during imaging procedures.
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to discuss findings and ensure comprehensive patient care.
Keep detailed records of patient information, imaging results, and any relevant medical history.
Stay updated on advancements in mammography technology and techniques, participating in ongoing education as required.
Assist in maintaining equipment and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Experience

Proven experience in medical imaging, specifically in mammography or related fields such as urgent care or sonography.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to breast imaging is essential.
Familiarity with various imaging modalities including X-ray.
Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and patient care protocols within a clinical setting.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
