Full Job Description

YOUTH CARE WORKER

Full-Time Position

SCAN RGV Youth Recovery Home is a residential substance treatment facility for adolescent males ages 13 to 17.
This position include, but is not limited to the following duties:

Provide direct supervision of 8 youth in care (16 during graveyard)and maintain line-of-sight at all times
Provide oversight during recreation, meal time, relaxing time, and play
Assist during transition and movement of youth from one activity to the next and one physical location to another
Interact with youth in an appropriate manner, including when playing games or during recreational time
Communicate in a positive and respectful manner with youth, families and all agency staff including supervisors, co-workers, counselors, student interns, and volunteers.
Effectively communicate behavioral expectations and program regulations to youth and enforce compliance with regulations and expectations by all youth assigned to the worker.
Complete all required documentation prior to completion of shift.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Texas Driver’s License with good driving record.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
Applicants must be 21 years or older.
