Title: Safe Kids PA State Office Associate

ORGANIZATION AND POSITION SUMMARY
Safe Kids Pennsylvania (SKPA), led by the American Trauma Society, Pennsylvania Division (ATSPA), is dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood injuries and deaths throughout the state of PA. These injuries range from accidental falls, to poisonings, car crashes, drownings, and many more. SKPA promotes and supports childhood injury prevention activities through education, collaboration, and advocacy throughout Pennsylvania. SKPA is one of many statewide coalitions under Safe Kids Worldwide.
The State Office Associate will work alongside the State Office Coordinator to support local coalitions and partners of the state in PA. The Associate will work collaboratively and independently to provide critical support of State Office initiatives and tasks, including providing support and materials to SKPA’s local groups, managing event logistics for virtual and in-person meetings that may contain anywhere from 10-70 people, information gathering and collection to inform grant deliverables, supporting health equity work, and more.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning
· Manage event logistics (including venue selection, catering, invitations, presentation materials, and follow-up needs) in collaboration with the State Office Coordinator
· Research and compile relevant resources, including educational materials, toolkits, and best practices to support child safety initiatives and prevent unintentional injuries
· Identify and analyze sources for local, regional, and statewide data regarding significant child injury risks
· Support the development of work statements, project budgets, strategy plans, and other program deliverables and reporting requirements,
Coordination
· Establish and maintain partnerships with coalitions, partners of the state, government agencies, and other community organizations
· Coordinate meetings, facilitate discussions, and encourage collaboration among the Safe Kids PA network to address issues related to child safety
· Provide support to SKPA coalitions and partners of the state alongside the State Office Coordinator
· Serve as a liaison between Safe Kids Worldwide and SKPA coalitions as necessary, including attending meetings and conferences, disseminating information, monitoring coalition compliance, and other relevant duties
Financial
· Support the facilitation of the passthrough funding initiatives for Safe Kids PA coalitions and partners of the state throughout the fiscal year
· Assist in identifying resources to support efforts of local Safe Kids Pennsylvania coalitions
Public Relations/Outreach
· Represent Safe Kids PA at national, statewide, and local meetings, events, task forces, and/or committees that relate to childhood injury prevention
· Create monthly social media toolkits for use by local SKPA groups, focusing on upcoming awareness topics, State Office priorities, and relevant events in PA
· Participate in Safe Kids Worldwide Child Injury Prevention Convention, when applicable
· Manage and moderate social media and website for Safe Kids PA
· Coordinate Safe Kids PA media outreach
· Support Safe Kids PA advocacy efforts
JOB SITE: ATSPA operates on a hybrid schedule, with two days weekly on-site in Mechanicsburg, PA and three days remote work. The hours of operation are 8am-4pm, including a 1 hour paid lunch break. This position may have infrequent travel, and it is expected to be less than 10% of total time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited degree program
· 3 years’ experience with injury prevention work preferred
· Dedication to evidence-informed or evidence-based injury prevention work, and a commitment to ending health disparities and promoting health equity
· Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
· Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
· Integrity, passion, idealism, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
SALARY RANGE: $40,000-43,000 annually
