THE POSITION

Step into a role where your analytical skills support meaningful community growth. As an Economic Development Analyst 1 with the Department of Community & Economic Development, you will help evaluate important programs that strengthen Pennsylvania’s economy. This position gives you the chance to work with tax credit initiatives that directly support businesses, schools, and local projects. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports the evaluation, administration, and monitoring of tax credit programs that assist businesses, schools, and development projects. You will ensure applications, reports, and program activities follow guidelines and meet eligibility requirements. As an Economic Development Analyst 1, you will perform the following duties:

Application Review: Evaluate program applications, request missing information, and recommend approval or disapproval
Program Analysis: Analyze projects that may fall outside eligibility guidelines and provide further review when needed
Customer Assistance: Support applicants and recipients by answering questions and offering technical guidance
Documentation Preparation: Prepare reports, appendices, receipts, and progress summaries for tax credit programs
Compliance Monitoring: Review project reports and active files to confirm that all program requirements are met
Data Management: Enter, update, and retrieve program information from ACCESS and Single Application databases

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

High level of customer service experience.
