Greenhouse & Grounds Maintenance Technician
Location: Worley, ID
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Greenhouse & Grounds Maintenance Technician to oversee the daily operation and maintenance of our greenhouse facilities, gardens, flower displays, and landscaped grounds. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a passion for plants and horticulture, and takes pride in maintaining beautiful landscapes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for growing vegetables, flowers, and ornamental plants while also assisting with the overall care and appearance of the property.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- One-hour unpaid lunch
- Full-time, year-round position
Pay
$24.04 - $28.85 DOE
Once Hired on – will be salary at 50k – 60k a year.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Greenhouse Operations
- Manage and maintain a 30' x 60' climate-controlled greenhouse, a small greenhouse, and an outdoor garden.
- Plant, cultivate, water, fertilize, and care for vegetables, flowers, herbs, and ornamental plants.
- Monitor plant health and identify issues related to pests, disease, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Harvest produce and flowers and deliver them to residences for owners and guests to enjoy.
- Ensure the greenhouse remains clean, organized, and operating efficiently throughout the year.
- Monitor greenhouse heating, cooling, irrigation, and environmental controls.
Greenhouse Automation
- Manage the Seed environmental control system that operates the greenhouse.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot basic operational issues.
- Coordinate with technical support or service providers when repairs or maintenance are required.
Seasonal Flower Displays
- Plant, maintain, and care for 60–80 decorative flower pots each season.
- Install seasonal flowers in the spring.
- Water, fertilize, prune, deadhead, and maintain displays throughout the summer.
- Remove, clean, and store containers during the fall season.
Landscape Maintenance
- Maintain landscape beds through weeding, mulching, pruning, trimming, planting, and seasonal cleanup.
- Install new shrubs, flowers, trees, and other landscape materials as needed.
- Monitor the health and appearance of all landscape plantings.
Grounds Maintenance
- Assist with general property maintenance including:
- Lawn mowing
- Weed trimming and weed control
- Fertilizing
- General yard cleanup
- Irrigation monitoring
- Seasonal grounds maintenance projects
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and attractive outdoor environment.
Qualifications
- Must Have Experience in greenhouse operations, horticulture, landscaping, gardening, or grounds maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of plant care, irrigation systems, fertilizers, and seasonal planting.
- Ability to safely operate lawn and landscape equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including bending, kneeling, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
