Central’s Institutional Advancement division builds meaningful relationships that strengthen the University and support student success. Through Alumni Relations, Development and Fundraising, Donor Relations, Advancement Services, and the CCSU Foundation, the division connects alumni, donors, friends, and community partners with opportunities to engage with and invest in Central. Position Profile
Through innovative and best practices, the Alumni Relations team inspires philanthropy from and engagement of alumni and donors for the benefit of our students and the University’s mission. Focused on creating opportunities for lifelong and meaningful relationships with University stakeholders, this team is a conduit to connect our internal and external constituencies.
More specifically, this position reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations will support the work and activities of the Institutional Advancement office and specifically Alumni Relations. This position will work directly with the Institutional Advancement personnel to accomplish immediate and long-term tasks, strategies, and goals. These include, but are not limited to, providing strategic, innovative, and experiential opportunities for alumni, current students, and campus partners (both internal and external); to foster support for the Central Connecticut State University community through increasingly robust support via annual strategic campaigns and multimedia marketing; and to foster, promote, and strengthen long-term engagement and high-value interactions with donors.

May supervise professional and/or support staff.
Position Responsibilities
Assists in planning, developing, executing, and supporting the Alumni Association, Alumni Relations, and Institutional Advancement with donor relations and events from inception to execution as directed by the Director of Alumni Relations.
Organizes programs designed to improve the visibility of and attract participation in the activities of the Alumni Association.
Identifies, recruits, and motivates the involvement of various alumni groups and alumnus in the University.
Assists with alumni programs and events such as reunions, homecoming, alumni affinity programs, alumni placement activities, and other Institutional Advancement events.
Works closely with Advancement Services to facilitate event registration and event follow-up.
Works in coordination with University departments to facilitate student outreach and engagement of alumni for Institutional Advancement activities.
Assists in the creation and editing of written communications, including, but not limited to, annual giving, donor relations, and alumni relations emails, letters, newsletters, and invitations, etc.
Supports the Director of Alumni Relations with special projects and assignments as it relates to alumni engagement, donor relations, and fundraising.
Assists in the operation of software and cloud-based platforms used as part of the work of Alumni Relations, including, but not limited to, Raiser’s Edge, and any future platforms or software. This may include, but is not limited to, list generation, data entry and processing, and report building and processing.
Provides staff service to the Alumni Association Board of Directors and other volunteer groups as assigned.
Works in coordination with Marketing and Communications to promote alumni events and program promotion via social media and other vehicles.
Monitors/maintains Alumni website/pages.
Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.

Demonstrated knowledge and ability to use a computer, advanced software, platforms and databases.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse constituency.
Working Environment
Incumbents typically perform their work indoors as well as at outdoor events, on and off campus and in person; may be required to work evenings and weekends; may be required to attend off-campus meetings, events, or outreach activities

Education:
All applicants must possess Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience and Training:
- Three (3) years of related professional work experience.
- Technologically proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, web application tools, and social media.
- An equivalent combination of credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above may also be considered.

Compensation and Employee Benefits
The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations is compensated at the Administrator 3 salary level in accordance with the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) Collective Bargaining Union Agreement.
