Executive Leadership Opportunity

A well-established and growing cabinetry, countertop, and installation company is seeking a hands-on operational leader to become the President's right hand.

This is not a traditional executive role hidden behind spreadsheets. We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable reviewing financial performance, coaching leaders, walking a production facility, visiting active jobsites, and solving operational challenges in real time.

The successful candidate will help transform strategic vision into disciplined execution while leading multiple business functions in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the President, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) serves as the operational leader of the organization, responsible for turning vision into execution across the business.

This position provides leadership over:

Sales & Marketing
Operations
Production
Human Resources
Customer Experience
Finance and Business Performance
Continuous Improvement

The COO partners closely with the President on company strategy while taking ownership for ensuring plans are effectively executed throughout the organization.

This is a highly visible leadership role within a privately owned company of approximately 40 employees.

Primary Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership/Integrator

Execute the company's strategic initiatives and long-term vision.
Translate goals into actionable plans with measurable results.
Lead, coach, and develop department leaders.
Foster accountability throughout the organization.
Improve communication and alignment across all departments.

Operational Accountability

Optimize workflow from initial customer contact through production, delivery, and project completion.
Improve efficiency, quality, scheduling, and overall customer experience.
Identify bottlenecks and implement scalable operational processes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Financial Accountability

Understand and manage company financial performance.
Review budgets, margins, labor efficiency, profitability, and operational costs.
Use financial data to guide sound business decisions.
Help drive sustainable, profitable growth.

Human Resources Accountability

Lead and develop a high-performing, accountable organizational culture aligned with company values.
Drive recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and develop top talent.
Lead employee engagement initiatives that foster collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.
Guide performance improvement, employee relations, and conflict resolution efforts with professionalism and consistency.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, workplace safety requirements, and company policies.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the President on organizational health, leadership development, and workforce planning.

Construction & Project Execution

The ideal candidate understands how construction projects come together—from reading blueprints and coordinating schedules to supporting production, field operations, installation, and project completion.

Experience within cabinetry, countertops, millwork, construction, building products, remodeling, or related industries is highly desirable.
