Full Job Description

Job Description:

Kongsberg Automotive - Suffield CT location is a full-cycle manufacturing plant that produces PTFE tube and stainless-steel braided hose from raw materials. All positions include operation of assigned equipment, including set-up, machine operation, and process monitoring to ensure product is made according to approved specifications. Mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical skills, basic familiarity with computers, the ability to read and follow written work instructions, and strong attention to detail are required.

We currently have openings on:

2nd Shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm)

3rd Shift (10:00 pm- 6:00 am)

Responsibilities:

Select hose, material, and tooling as needed to jacket hose per schedule, setup and run striving for nominal specifications
Select material and tooling needed to extrude tube per schedule, setup and run striving for nominal specifications.
Select material and tooling needed to mold fittings, setup and run striving for nominal specifications.
Select material and tooling needed to braid hose, setup and run striving for nominal specifications.
Perform and record all quality checks and fill out all required paperwork.
Ensure that only quality product moves from area.
Follow all safety rules and keep equipment and machinery in area clean.
Continuously work towards reducing scrap and improving production and safety.
Perform other duties as seen necessary by management.
Sit, stand, bend, and reach for long periods of time to operate and maintain equipment.
Lift 70 Lb. coils or lengths of hose.
Lift full reels one side at a time about 2 inches off the floor up to 250 LBS.
Perform all the required preventive maintenance and cleaning.
Perform all the required paperwork for all operations.
Ability to lift single objects of 70 lbs, up to 10/day, with occasional lifting of objects up to 25lbs.
Ability to perform the following tasks (percentage of the day): bending 10%, climbing 5%, shoulder lift 20%, walking 50%, and sit or stand 50%.
Ability to work with others.
Perform other duties as seen by management.

Job Summary: Extrude jacketing products over braided hose. Extrude tubing from pellets. Mold and machine fittings. Braid Kevlar over tubing.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (strongly preferred)
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Prior manufacturing background or proof of mechanical ability
Must be capable of following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Position is very mobile throughout the facility but the ability to sit, stand, walk and climb to elevated areas.
Waist to shoulder lifting of up to 20 LBS as required.
Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach for long periods of time to operate and maintain equipment
Overtime may be required.
