Retail Sales Manager

Able Tool & Equipment is a fast-growing construction equipment dealership specializing in sales, rentals, parts, service, and innovative equipment solutions. We're looking for a motivated, organized, customer-focused Retail Sales Manager to lead our showroom operations and become the primary point of contact for walk-in and phone customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys customer interaction, merchandising, inventory management, and building strong vendor relationships while supporting a dynamic outside sales team.

Position Summary

The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of our retail showroom, ensuring exceptional customer experience while managing inventory, merchandising, purchasing, pricing, and vendor relationships. This individual will work closely with our outside sales, rental, and service departments to support company growth and customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for all showroom visitors and incoming phone inquiries.
Deliver outstanding customer service while identifying customer needs and recommending products and solutions.
Manage and maintain an attractive, organized, and fully stocked retail showroom.
Develop merchandising displays and seasonal product promotions.
Monitor retail inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records.
Purchase and replenish retail inventory from approved vendors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and supplier representatives.
Negotiate purchasing opportunities, promotions, and stocking programs.
Maintain accurate retail pricing and implement pricing updates.
Coordinate vendor rebate, stocking, and marketing programs.
Support the outside sales team with quotations, reservations, invoices, product information, availability, and customer follow-up.
Prepare customer quotes, process sales orders, and coordinate special orders.
Identify opportunities to increase retail sales through upselling and cross-selling.
Coordinate new product introductions and showroom launches.
Monitor slow-moving inventory and develop strategies to improve inventory turnover.
Assist with planning customer appreciation events, open houses, demonstrations, and promotional campaigns.
Track key retail sales metrics and recommend improvements.
Help develop retail sales goals and implement strategies to achieve them.
Ensure the showroom is clean, professional, and welcoming at all times.
Maintain knowledge of new products, construction equipment, tools, and industry trends.
Support marketing efforts by identifying products for promotions, social media, and email campaigns.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of retail management, inside sales, or dealership management experience.
Construction equipment, industrial supply, tool, automotive, agricultural, or heavy equipment experience preferred.
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Experience with purchasing and inventory management.
Understanding of merchandising and retail display best practices.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Experience using ERP, inventory management, or dealership software is a plus.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
