What You Will Do:
- Clean parts using the sandblast booth, standalone sandblasters and parts washer.
- Paint parts as needed.
- Will also work as an Assembler when needed.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, pictures, etc.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Be respectful to co-workers and be part of an environment that fosters teamwork.
- May be asked to work overtime at short notice.
Marginal Job Functions: This position will occasionally perform truck runs and scrap runs.
Protective Clothing/Equipment Required: Requires the use of safety glasses and shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, forced air respirator hood, face shield, dust mask, respirator, rubber gloves and other PPE required for blasting as dictated by the work being performed.
What We Are Looking For:
- Education/Experience: A high school diploma or GED are preferred as is one to three years of related experience.
- Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating, maintenance & work instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine reports and paperwork. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
- Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of computer use and completing basic functions in Microsoft Excel like highlighting and changing words in cells. Must be able to learn basic functions of Inventory & Manufacturing software.
- Certificates and Licenses: Must obtain lift equipment and crane operator's certification upon hire. Some crane & forklift equipment experience is preferred.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Requires the ability to operate a variety of small hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, cranes and lift equipment, and tool room machines.
- Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; extreme heat (non- weather); risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Vision Demands: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
