Full Job Description

Connecticut Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, PC is growing. We have an opportunity for a certified medical assistant to work with our physicians and midlevel providers. · Appropriately rooming patients while gaining their medical history, confirming the purpose of the visit and verifying personal data.

· Sets up and assists providers with office procedures ensuring the provider has all the necessary equipment needed for each patient.

· Works closely with patients and physicians to provide compassionate, efficient care.

· Works with MA team to establish proper patient flow to ensure provider efficiency

· Works with Front desk and scheduling team to obtain all patient records including test results to have available for patient appointment.

· Insurance authorization of radiology examinations.

· Refill and prior authorization of prescriptions under the direction of a provider.

· Schedules diagnostic testing and authorizes as needed.

· Maintains stock, places orders and keeps records of supplies for appropriate allocation.

· Keeps equipment in good working order, troubleshoots breakdowns, and performs routine maintenance and testing as per protocol.

· Cleans and stocks all exam rooms.

· Triage patient calls and respond per protocol with appropriate documentation.

· Reconciles Orders module weekly (pathology, radiology and labs).

· Travel with the assigned provider to outside office sites.

Performs other duties as required.

Position Requirements

· High school degree, associates or bachelor’s degree is an advantage.

· Medical assistant certificate required.

· Certification from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) is required.

· Knowledge of proper medical procedure including infection control.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Strong conflict resolution skills.

· Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.

· Knowledge of Epic electronic health records, appropriate documentation and medical terminology.

· Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
