Lead Data Analyst
- Location: United States, Eastern Time Zone
Mandatory Skills
- Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance domain knowledge, preferably including billing and payments.
Primary Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Teradata, Oracle, or comparable database platforms.
- Strong P&C insurance knowledge, preferably covering billing and payments.
- Experience in data analysis, validation, reconciliation, quality assessment, and source-to-target mapping.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and modeling concepts, including facts, dimensions, joins, ETL/ELT, data marts, and reporting.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and independently translate them into data and SQL solutions.
- Expertise in trend analysis and the generation of actionable business insights.
- Experience gathering requirements and performing business analysis.
- Ability to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks.
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise datasets.
- Advanced Excel skills for analytical reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- Effective use of AI tools to improve productivity and support day-to-day analytical activities.
Preferred Technical Skills
- MicroStrategy dashboard development, reporting, and data visualization.
- Python for data analysis and automation.
- ETL and data-integration concepts.
- Experience with dbt, Databricks, and Azure or AWS.
- Data modeling, metadata management, schema design, and performance optimization.
- Strong experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Insurance data and reporting.
- Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Statistical analysis and forecasting techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to define analytical, reporting, and dashboard requirements.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and business opportunities.
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive MicroStrategy dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visualizations that support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Contribute to data-modeling activities by defining data structures, relationships, hierarchies, and reporting layers.
- Support high-priority initiatives, including dashboard modernization, reporting enhancements, and strategic roadmap programs.
- Translate business questions into actionable, data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Define, monitor, and enhance KPIs and business metrics aligned with organizational objectives.
- Perform root-cause analysis, data validation, and reconciliation to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare ad hoc analyses and executive-level presentations for critical business decisions.
- Collaborate with business, technology, and offshore teams to deliver analytical solutions within agreed timelines.
- Participate in requirements workshops, solution-design discussions, effort estimation, and prioritization activities.
- Identify opportunities for reporting automation, process improvement, and enhanced data visualization.
- Maintain documentation for business rules, metric definitions, data lineage, data models, and reporting solutions.
Professional and Domain Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for an onsite, client-facing role.
- Knowledge of insurance concepts covering policies, claims, billing, payments, and operational reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder-management and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to gather, clarify, and document requirements from multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build compelling data narratives and present insights to business leaders and executives.
- Experience in effort estimation, prioritization, and delivery planning.
- Ability to coordinate with offshore teams and review deliverables for quality and completeness.
- Customer-centric mindset with the ability to recommend data-driven solutions.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance and internal equity.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salary target for the position across all US locations. Benefits
Compensation range: $120,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
