Position Overview

A Brookfield-based organization is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Payroll / HR Manager to join its team. Approximately 80% of this position will focus on payroll administration, with the remaining 20% supporting the HR Director and assisting with general human resources responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have payroll experience, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential employee information professionally. This is an on-site position at our Brookfield office.

Primary Responsibilities Payroll Administration – Approximately 80%

Process accurate and timely payroll.
Review employee timecards for accuracy and completeness.
Follow up with employees and supervisors regarding missing punches, corrections, and approvals.
Enter and maintain payroll information, including new hires, wage changes, deductions, reimbursements, and terminations.
Track paid time off, leave balances, and other payroll-related information.
Review payroll reports and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
Maintain organized and accurate payroll records.
Assist employees with routine payroll questions.
Support payroll audits, reporting, and year-end payroll activities.
Ensure payroll information is handled confidentially and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Human Resources Support – Approximately 20%

Provide administrative and operational support to the HR Director.
Assist with new-hire paperwork, on-boarding, and employee record maintenance.
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files.
Track required employment documents, training, licenses, and certifications.
Assist with benefits documentation and employee status changes.
Prepare letters, forms, reports, and other HR-related documents.
Respond to routine employee questions and direct more complex concerns to the HR Director.
Assist with additional HR projects and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Previous payroll processing or payroll administration experience is required.
Experience supporting or managing human resources functions is preferred.
Experience with ADP/Gusto or a similar payroll platform is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in payroll, accounting, business administration, or human resources is preferred.

Schedule and Location

This is a part-time position working 20–28 hours per week during regular business hours. The position is located at our Brookfield, Wisconsin office and requires on-site attendance. Remote or hybrid work is not available.

Compensation

The hourly pay range is $22.00–$28.00, based on payroll experience, qualifications, and related skills.
