Quality Associate - Pet Food Plant – Harvard, IL
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Associate Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety through various testing and documentation processes. From microbiological testing to equipment calibration, the Quality Assurance Technician plays a vital role in maintaining our commitment to excellence. Salary Range : $20.50-$22.50
Shift : 12 Hours
Job Responsibilities
- Pull samples for microbiological testing
- Verify effectiveness of and document metal detection logs
- Test AW and document on water activity log for each Work Order
- Document oven temperatures and RF settings every hour.
- Work with Operators and Supervisors to modify ovens and bake times as needed based on visual quality checks and Aw results
- Check/verify weights on bulk packaging and boxed product (random)
- Schedule and manage all QA equipment calibration
- Perform all pre and post cleaning procedures to achieve sanitary requirements
- Perform any new QA checks as required for new processes.
- Perform any other job functions are requested by supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- High School Diploma
- Be at least 18 years old
- Possess general knowledge of machine operation
- Possess basic math skills
- Ability to use creative thinking for troubleshooting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Ability to demonstrate safe working habits
- Ability to operate motorized lift trucks after on the job training.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time
- Ability to work well with others and be a team member
- Obvious enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
- Preferred HACCP Certified
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling, for extended periods.
- Tolerance for working in environments with exposure to heat, noise, and dust.
