General Superintendent — Data Center Construction (Haskell, TX)

ASAP Start | 52-Week Project | Google Data Center

About the Role

We're hiring a General Superintendent to lead field operations on a large-scale Google data center project in Haskell, TX. This is a 52-week opportunity for an experienced construction leader who knows structured cabling and data center work inside and out, and who can run a crew with authority, organization, and precision from day one.

Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 8–10 hours per day

Job Description

The General Superintendent is the overall manager on a medium to large structured cabling project, responsible for ensuring all contracted work is developed, implemented, installed, and managed in accordance with company requirements — including safety, quality, management, and financial performance. All aspects of the assigned project must be carried out as efficiently as possible with respect to staffing, materials management, financial management, customer care, and customer delivery goals.

Key Responsibilities

Hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline, and (if necessary) discharge project-related staff; manage all human resource issues per company policy and procedures, and provide recommendations on performance ratings, promotions, and pay changes
Provide guidance and mentoring to meet customer and company goals and objectives
Act as the senior company liaison for operational interface with customer representatives, and serve as the main on-site point of contact for questions and concerns
Plan for, manage, monitor, and maintain project profitability to achieve company goals
Ensure deadlines are met per customer requirements
Manage overall workload distribution and staffing levels, and monitor customer delivery and job installation progress
Manage successful job completion, ensuring productivity, on-time completion, and compliance with project budget
Review all job cost postings for accuracy and completeness, including invoice preparation, customer collections, and periodic financial reporting to the customer and management
Fully and accurately complete all project paperwork on time — including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers — and ensure Job Closing Packages meet customer and company standards
Perform quality checks and day-to-day job walks to ensure quality, help prevent outages, and prepare red-lined as-built drawings
Attend facility and construction meetings as required
Demonstrate a detailed level of technical knowledge; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise
Review and monitor operational processes — including estimating, purchasing, invoicing, warehousing, scheduling, and reporting — for accuracy, completeness, and efficiency, and develop/implement process improvements as needed
Work with the Training Department to monitor quality and safety issues, actively promoting safety as the top priority
Lead assigned operations meetings and training sessions
Manage tools and truck inventory/maintenance
Complete other responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Bring

Strong background in structured cabling and data center construction
Demonstrated field leadership experience, with a track record of managing crews and coordinating work on large-scale projects
Working knowledge of fiber and copper installation, infrastructure systems, and industry safety requirements
Experience with scheduling and project documentation
OSHA 30 certification (required)

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Rate: $40–$45/hour
Per Diem: $140/day, paid as 6 per diem payments for every 5 days worked onsite
