Full Job Description

Position Summary:

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving warehouse processes to increase operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety. This role partners with operations, customers, and cross-functional teams to optimize labor, space utilization, material flow, and inventory processes while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Industrial Engineer uses data analysis, process improvement methodologies, and engineering principles to develop solutions that reduce costs, improve service levels, and support the successful implementation of new business opportunities and operational changes. Essential Functions:

Analyze warehouse operations and business processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, productivity, and cost savings.
Provide project management for assigned projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, timelines, and deliverables.
Develop, implement, and monitor process improvements using established industrial engineering principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Evaluate labor utilization, workflows, equipment, and facility layouts to optimize operational performance.
Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to support business decisions and measure key performance indicators (KPIs).
Partner with Operations, Customer Service, Transportation, Maintenance, Information Technology, and other departments to develop and implement operational solutions.
Support the design, startup, and continuous improvement of new and existing customer operations.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, process documentation, and work instructions as needed.
Recommend process, equipment, and technology improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
Participate in facility planning, capacity analysis, and space utilization initiatives.
Assist with labor planning, productivity standards, and operational forecasting.
Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects and cross-functional initiatives.
Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership based on operational analyses.
Promote a culture of safety and ensure engineering solutions align with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging technologies to support operational excellence.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operation Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field
Five (5) years of industrial engineering or continuous improvement experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment
Project management experience
Demonstrated experience analyzing operational data and implementing process improvements that improve productivity, quality, safety, or cost efficiency.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, material flow, labor management, and process optimization principles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present recommendations to leaders at all levels of the organization
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision

Travel Expectations:

This position requires travel of up to 50% within the first year. Following the first year, travel is expected to be up to 25%. Travel will include local travel throughout the Greater Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area, as well as periodic travel to our warehouse locations in Missouri, Iowa, and New York, as well as other locations as business needs evolve.

Pay: $108,605.00 - $141,186.00 per year
