Toolroom Technician/Toolmaker - 1st/2nd Shift / Direct Hire / Middleville, MI

Toolroom Technician/Toolmaker - 1st/2nd Shift Summary:

Excellent opportunity to join a great team as a Toolroom Technician/Tool maker. Openings exist on 1st Shift (T-F 6a-4:30p) & 2nd Shift (M-Th 4p-2a). The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience maintaining, repairing, and/or modifying: Tools, jigs, fixtures and other instruments of a machine shop/tool room.

Journeyman Tool maker (1st & 2nd) Requirements:

Tool Room Technician – 1st & 2nd Shift

Pay: $27.00–$35.00 per hour

1st Shift: Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m.

2nd Shift Incentives: 10% shift premium and eligibility for a $1,500 signing bonus

Position Summary

We are seeking Tool Room Technicians to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and support production dies and tooling. This position helps ensure tools are production-ready while responding quickly to breakdowns and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on production dies.
Troubleshoot tooling issues and support production schedules.
Inspect repaired tooling for proper dimensions, clearances, and alignment.
Build, modify, fit, and assemble tooling components.
Operate tool room equipment, hand tools, and punch presses.
Document completed work and communicate tooling or safety concerns.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

3+ years of tooling or die-maintenance experience.
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T..
Metal-stamping or welding-environment experience is preferred.
Proficient use of manual mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses.
Completion of Apprenticeship, Journeyman Card, or other certifications are a plus.
Willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
