Licensed Insurance Account Representative

Gurske Insurance Agency is looking for an experienced, licensed insurance professional to join our team as a Licensed Insurance Account Representative.

This is a customer-focused role centered around servicing and retaining our existing book of business while also identifying opportunities to better protect our customers through additional coverage and products.

We're looking for someone who understands that great insurance service isn't simply processing a customer's request. It's asking the right questions, recognizing potential coverage gaps, educating customers about their options, and helping them make informed decisions about their insurance.

What You'll Do

You'll work directly with the agency owner to service, retain, and grow our existing book of business. Responsibilities include:

Assist customers with policy questions, coverage needs, and account changes
Process endorsements and policy changes accurately and efficiently
Review customer accounts and identify potential coverage gaps
Educate customers about available coverage options and make appropriate recommendations
Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities within the existing book of business
Quote and write new policies for existing customers when opportunities arise
Assist with billing and payment questions
Handle underwriting requests and follow-up
Monitor renewals and proactively address account concerns
Assist customers with claims questions and next steps
Remarket accounts when appropriate
Respond to incoming phone calls, emails, and service requests
Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions
Follow up on outstanding items and keep accounts moving
Build strong customer relationships that support retention and agency growth

What We're Looking For

We need an experienced insurance professional who can step into this role with an existing understanding of P&C insurance and account servicing.

You don't need to know our agency or systems on day one. We'll teach you those. However, you should already understand how to work with insurance customers, service policies, discuss coverage, quote business, and manage the responsibilities that come with servicing an existing book of business.

Required:

Active Property & Casualty insurance license
Previous P&C insurance experience
Experience servicing an existing book of business
Experience quoting and writing personal lines policies
Strong understanding of personal lines coverage, including home and auto
Ability to confidently discuss coverage and make recommendations
Ability to identify and pursue appropriate cross-selling opportunities
Experience communicating directly with customers regarding their policies and coverage needs
Strong customer service and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple customer needs
Comfortable learning new carrier systems and technology
Dependable, organized, and able to take ownership of your work

Farmers Insurance experience is a plus, but not required.

The Right Person for This Role

You genuinely enjoy working with people and building long-term customer relationships.

You're comfortable picking up the phone, having conversations about coverage, solving problems, and following through when you tell someone you're going to do something.

You understand that customer service and sales work together. When you notice that a customer has a coverage gap, an additional insurance need, or an opportunity to better protect their household, you're comfortable starting that conversation.

You don't simply process the request in front of you. You pay attention to the entire account, ask questions, make recommendations, and look for opportunities to provide better coverage while growing the customer's relationship with the agency.

At the same time, you understand that recommendations should make sense for the customer. Our goal is to build long-term relationships by providing knowledgeable advice and excellent service.

We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, notices what needs to be done, follows through, and cares about doing things correctly.

About Our Agency

Gurske Insurance Agency is a locally owned insurance agency based in Spokane Valley.

We're a small office where customer relationships matter. You'll work directly alongside the agency owner and play an important role in both the day-to-day operation and continued growth of the agency.

We believe in educating customers, recommending strong coverage, providing excellent service, and being available when our customers actually need us.

Because we're a small agency, every team member matters. We're looking for someone who wants to contribute, build relationships with our customers, and become a long-term part of the agency.

Schedule

Full-Time | In-Person
Monday – Friday
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
No evenings or weekends

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and the candidate's ability to independently handle account servicing responsibilities.

This position includes a guaranteed hourly base wage plus commission opportunities for new business and cross-selling.
