Full Job Description

Happy Hearts Playcare is looking for a dependable, confident, energetic Childcare Operations Manager to help lead our growing childcare program.

This is a hands-on leadership and operations position for someone who can manage a team, communicate confidently with families, stay organized, solve problems, and keep the day-to-day operations of Happy Hearts running smoothly.

Happy Hearts is not a traditional daycare. We provide flexible drop-in childcare along with Preschool Prep, after-school care, summer programs, Kids’ Night Out, and other family-focused services.

Because every day at Happy Hearts can look a little different, we need someone who is flexible, organized, dependable, and truly a team player.

What You’ll Do

Lead, supervise, and support the Happy Hearts team
Manage day-to-day facility operations
Help create and manage employee schedules
Monitor staffing, capacity, and child-to-staff ratios
Communicate professionally and confidently with families
Oversee check-in, checkout, reservations, and parent questions
Train and onboard new team members
Maintain clear expectations and accountability among staff
Ensure employees are actively supervising and engaging with children
Help coordinate Preschool Prep, after-school care, camps, Kids’ Night Out, and special activities
Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming environment
Handle everyday problems calmly and confidently
Work closely with the owner on staffing, programs, operations, and continued growth
Be flexible and willing to help the team wherever needed

Our Preschool Prep Program

Preschool Prep is a play-based socialization program designed to help young children become comfortable and confident in a group environment.

Through play, interaction, repetition, and age-appropriate activities, children work on fine motor skills, social interactions, sharing and taking turns, letter and name recognition, following routines, independence, and confidence.

The Childcare Operations Manager will help ensure our team understands and supports this approach.

Who We’re Looking For

We need someone who can lead without being afraid to be part of the team.

The right person is dependable, organized, adaptable, professional, positive, and comfortable giving direction when necessary. Childcare can change quickly, so being able to adjust to staffing needs, reservations, children’s needs, and changing daily plans is extremely important.

You should genuinely enjoy working around children and families while also understanding that this is a management position with real responsibility and accountability.

Qualifications

Previous childcare, management, operations, or leadership experience strongly preferred
Experience supervising employees preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable leading and holding a team accountable
Able to multitask and problem-solve in a busy environment
Dependable with consistent availability
Must be able to pass required background checks
CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
