One of only 17 hotels located on Kalakaua Avenue, Hotel La Croix was built in 1972 as the first Hyatt (“Hyatt Lodge”) in Hawaii. We are looking for motivated team members interested in the opportunity to experience the redevelopment of the hotel into one of the top destination boutique hotels in Waikiki.

Summary

The Assistant Guest Experience Manager (AGEM) serves as a key leader within the Front Office, supporting the Guest Experience Manager in overseeing all aspects of the guest journey from arrival to departure. This role champions La Croix's culture of Love and Aloha, ensuring that every interaction reflects our commitment to exceptional, personalized service. The AGEM is a hands-on leader who mentors the front desk team, manages daily operations, and resolves guest concerns with poise and professionalism

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Guest Experience Manager in leading daily Front Office operations, including check-in, check-out, and concierge services.
Supervise, coach, and inspire front desk associates, fostering a culture of Aloha and continuous improvement.
Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as scheduled, making real-time decisions to uphold guest satisfaction.
Resolve guest concerns and service recovery situations promptly and with genuine care.
Monitor room inventory, rate strategy, and daily arrivals/departures in coordination with Revenue Management.
Partner with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Maintain compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, and all applicable safety and labor regulations.
Assist in scheduling, payroll tracking, and performance management of front office team members.
Support the onboarding and ongoing training of new associates.
Prepare and review daily operational reports; communicate actionable insights to leadership.
Champion the hotel's loyalty program and upsell initiatives to drive ancillary revenue.
Uphold and model the values of Hotel La Croix in every interaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years of progressive front office or guest services experience in a hotel environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Warm, guest-first mindset with a genuine passion for Hawaiian hospitality.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills — written, verbal, and active listening.
Proven ability to lead a team, manage conflict, and make sound decisions under pressure.
Proficiency with Property Management Systems (PMS); experience with Opera Cloud or similar preferred.
Solid understanding of front office metrics, room inventory management, and upsell techniques.
Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred —or equivalent experience.
Fluency in English required; additional language skills (Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, or Spanish) a plus.
