Help Families Discover the Portraits They'll Treasure for a Lifetime.
Lubera Portraits is seeking a warm, polished, and personable Portrait Design Consultant to guide clients through one of the most meaningful parts of their portrait experience—the Design Consultation.
This is not a high-pressure sales position.
Our clients have already invested their time in creating beautiful portraits because they deeply value their family or their dog. Your role is to help them discover the portraits that speak to them most, envision them as artwork in their home, and confidently select pieces they will cherish for years to come.
This position is ideal for someone who naturally notices the little things that make an image unforgettable and finds joy in helping others surround themselves with meaningful art.
If you've worked in luxury hospitality, fine dining, high-end retail, concierge services, guest relations, or another client-focused profession where creating exceptional experiences is second nature, we'd love to hear from you.
No previous portrait sales experience is necessary. We will provide all the training you need.
What You'll Do
- Curate the strongest portraits from each session in preparation for the Design Consultation.
- Conduct personalized Design Consultations with clients via Zoom.
- Guide clients through their portrait gallery while helping them envision artwork within their home.
- Educate clients on portrait sizes, finishes, framing options, and display ideas.
- Provide thoughtful recommendations based on each client's home, style, and goals.
- Create a relaxed, enjoyable, and memorable purchasing experience.
- Build genuine relationships while helping clients make confident decisions.
- Maintain accurate records and follow established studio procedures.
- Represent the Lubera Portraits brand with warmth, professionalism, and integrity.
We're Looking For Someone Who...
- Naturally connects with people and makes them feel comfortable.
- Has a strong artistic eye and an instinct for recognizing exceptional imagery.
- Appreciates composition, expression, lighting, storytelling, and the subtle qualities that transform a photograph into meaningful artwork.
- Can confidently identify the strongest images from a portrait session and understands that thoughtful curation is an important part of the client experience.
- Takes pride in creating exceptional customer experiences.
- Is polished, articulate, and communicates with confidence.
- Listens carefully before offering recommendations.
- Is organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
- Maintains composure during conversations and enjoys helping people make important decisions.
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Appreciates fine art, beautiful design, and quality craftsmanship.
- Enjoys working with families and pet owners.
- Brings maturity, professionalism, and sound judgment to every client interaction.
- Is comfortable learning new software and technology.
Sales experience is certainly welcome, but it isn't required.
What is much harder to teach—and therefore especially valuable—is an instinctive appreciation for exceptional imagery, a refined artistic eye, and a genuine desire to help clients choose artwork they will enjoy seeing every day.

- Reliable high-speed internet.
- A quality webcam and microphone.
- A personal computer (Mac preferred, though not required).
Schedule
- Part-time
- Flexible scheduling
- Evening and weekend availability is helpful, as many consultations are scheduled outside traditional business hours.
Compensation
- Competitive hourly base pay
- Performance-based commission
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Opportunities for increased earnings as your experience grows
Opportunities for Growth
We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our growing studio—not simply fill a position.
As the studio continues to grow, there may be opportunities to expand into additional responsibilities based on your interests and strengths, including:
- Client booking and scheduling
- Photography
- Client experience and studio operations
- Leadership and training opportunities
If you're ambitious, dependable, and eager to grow professionally, we'd love to invest in your development.
Hawaii Preferred
We welcome applicants from anywhere in the United States.
Because many of our clients are local families, Hawaii applicants are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with Hawaii's culture, communication style, and spirit of aloha is a meaningful advantage in creating the exceptional experience our clients have come to expect.
Outstanding applicants from outside Hawaii are absolutely encouraged to apply as well.
