Full Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and professional dispatcher responsible for the coordination of the utilization of drivers and trucks maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

Ensures maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding Company-established goals by successfully routing drivers.
Monitor truck routes and statuses to optimize scheduling and coordination.
Monitors route time intervals for gaps.
Review and updates routes, new customers based on daily communication, reroutes existing customers as required.
Assist with route changes, rescheduling for pickups/missed stops.
Monitors employee hours to minimize overtime.
Dispatches drivers to calls as they are received, using information on customer needs, drivers’ locations and loads, and daily factors to balance cost and customer satisfaction.
Use mobile devices, tablets, or computers to communicate with drivers and field units.
Initiates communication to customers while drivers are on-site/location, resolves pick-up and other issues delaying the service.
Provide drivers and with updates on orders and traffic conditions.
Maintain accurate records, logs, and data related to calls and activities.
Collects completed work orders and enters data into tracking systems.
Prepares, updates and dispenses daily route schedules. Gathers and maintains route sheet documentation for pick-ups (scheduled, missed, extra pick ups), route completions and driver locations.
Reports driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution.
Prioritize calls based on urgency and importance.
Provides highest level of customer service to all customers.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Skills:

High School Diploma/ GED Required. Associate’s degree preferred.
2+ Years’ experience, preferably in Transportation, Logistics, Routing and Customer Service
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
Able to learn trade specific software.
Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail for document accuracy.
Ability to type efficiently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritize
Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and organization.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
