Full Job Description

Job Summary

The logistics Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the logistics team by managing the end-to-end process of filing, tracking, and resolving manufacturer and freight damage claims, as well as helping route freight throughout the country. This position ensures that damaged, defective, or lost shipments are properly documented and resolved in a timely manner, protecting company margins while maintaining strong vendor and carrier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

File and manage manufacturer damage claims for defective or damaged furniture products, ensuring all required documentation (photos, order details, inspection reports) is complete and submitted within vendor deadlines.
File and manage freight damage claims with carriers for shipments damaged, lost, or mishandled in transit.
Track the status of all open claims from submission through resolution, following up proactively with manufacturers and freight carriers to prevent delays.
Collaborate closely with the logistics team to identify damaged or problem shipments early and gather the documentation needed to support a claim.
Maintain accurate, organized claims records within internal systems, ensuring each claim is properly logged, categorized, and updated.
Communicate with customers, vendors, and carriers as needed to gather information or provide updates on claim status.
Analyze claims trends (e.g., recurring damage types, problem carriers, or vendor quality issues) and report findings to help reduce future claim volume.
Ensure claims are resolved in accordance with manufacturer warranty terms and freight carrier liability policies.
Support related administrative tasks, such as issuing credits, coordinating replacement parts or product, and updating order records once a claim is resolved.

Qualifications

Prior experience in claims processing, logistics, supply chain, or a related administrative role preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple open claims simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
Comfortable working with data entry, spreadsheets, and internal claims/order management systems.
Ability to follow up consistently and drive claims to resolution without significant oversight.
Furniture industry or e-commerce experience is a plus, but not required.
