Job Goals:
- Develop and produce engaging multimedia content that effectively communicates and promotes the mission, vision, programs, achievements, and initiatives of Cullman County Schools.
- Enhance public engagement and strengthen the district’s brand through strategic use of video, photography, graphic design, social media, and digital communications.
- Collaborate with district and community stakeholders to tell compelling stories that support organizational goals and foster positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- College degree in Communications, Journalism, Broadcasting, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with professional video production equipment, including cameras, audio, and lighting systems.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with graphic design software and content creation tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent applications.
- W orking knowledge of desktop productivity applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing platforms.
- E xperience with live streaming equipment, software, and event production technologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with administrators, staff, students, and community stakeholders.
- Physical ability to perform job responsibilities, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying equipment, and working in various indoor and outdoor environments.
- D emonstrated ability to maintain regular attendance, meet deadlines, and work a flexible schedule as needed for events and district activities.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities.
- Plan, develop, produce, film, edit, and distribute professional-quality video content for district websites, social media platforms, presentations, marketing initiatives, and other communication channels.
- Capture, edit, and maintain high-quality photography that highlights district programs, events, achievements, and community engagement activities.
- Design and create digital graphics, animations, and other multimedia content to support district communications, branding, and promotional efforts.
- Manage all phases of video production, including concept development, scripting, storyboarding, filming, audio recording, editing, and post-production.
- Provide technical support and production services for live-streamed events, meetings, ceremonies, and other district programs.
- Organize, maintain, and archive digital media assets, including photographs, videos, graphics, and related project files.
- Collaborate with administrators, schools, and departments to identify, develop, and share stories that promote student success, staff accomplishments, and district initiatives.
- Ensure all multimedia and digital content is consistent with district branding guidelines, communication standards, and strategic goals.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot multimedia production equipment, including cameras, lighting systems, audio equipment, drones, and related technology.
- Assist with website content updates and digital communications to ensure timely and accurate information is shared with stakeholders.
- Research emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in digital media, video production, and communications, and recommend innovative strategies to enhance audience engagement.
- Attend and provide media coverage for school and community events, including assignments that may occur outside normal work hours, such as evenings and weekends.
- Engages in personal professional growth, adheres to professional standards, and demonstrates professional ethics, sound judgment, and leadership.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding student/school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law.
- Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility.
- Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner.
- Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
- Properly cares for equipment and material resources of the school system.
- Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies and state, federal and local laws.
- Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures; prepares for substitutes according to Board policies and school procedures.
- Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
Terms of Employment/Salary: As established by the Board and applicable state law.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
