Full Job Description

Purpose and role of job:

Responsible for operating machinery in a safe, competent, efficient, and productive manner.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

To become proficient in operating the Mainline and the Slitter
Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
Maintains quality standards for the product.
Keeps the machine and the surrounding area clean.
Follow instructions of the Team Lead
Advancement through the pay-for-skills program
Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.

Education and experience requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion all required training and assessments
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate orally and written
Ability to work in a team orientated environment
Previous manufacturing/distribution center/industrial experience preferred
Proven ability for applied learning required
Prior computer experience preferred

Work Environment:

Noisy environment requiring hearing protection; manufacturing environment requiring safety shoes and safety glasses. Other PPE required based upon specific tasks. Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent Walking/standing during a 12-hour shift.
Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting throughout shift.
Occasional climbing and reaching into machines to fix jams.
Occasional reaching overhead during shift.
Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift, including materials requiring up to 75lbs of force to maneuver.
Frequent lifting or carrying up to 50lbs.
Constant use of hands and occasional use of foot control.
Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift.
Operation of cranes, hoists, hand trucks and roll manipulators throughout shift.
Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
Occasional climbing of steps.
Balance required for some tasks.

No Mandatory Overtime
Advancement and increased earning opportunities based upon acquired skills (complete all 5 trainings and earn an additional $1.70/hour)
Shift differential of $2.00/hour for hours worked between 9:00pm - 9:00am.
PFN offers quarterly incentives bonus
