IT Support/Vote Clerk - Short Term - (26142094)
This is a short term position for the legislative session. This position will start as soon as possible and will go thru June 30th, 2027. This position is non-partisan.
DUTIES:
Vote Clerk:
-
Training on the vote system
-
Run the Legislative vote system during Floor Sessions (includes Saturdays)

On camera support, must maintain proper dress and appearance
-
Maintain political neutrality on bill voting
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
-
Responsible for providing level-1 technical support
-
Respond to technical support requests and answers user’s inquiries in a timely manner to ensure minimal staff disruption
-
Use problem solving techniques to understand, isolate and document problems, determine the best course of action or escalate the issue, and implement and document a solution
-
Work with level two and three staff within OLIS or contractor personnel to solve more challenging problems

Manage user accounts and access, change passwords, and reset user lockouts

Help process new staff – set up user accounts and workstations, perform user application testing, deploy equipment, and document in tracking system
Help Desk Support:
-
Perform help desk functions by providing in-person, telephone, or email support for Branch users in the areas of hardware, software, network, audio/video, and inventory database support

Monitor help desk tickets and respond to user support requests
-
Respond to help desk calls or emails to support user needs, escalate tickets to others as needed to ensure timely response and effective resolution

Look for patterns in help desk tickets and escalate for root-cause solution
Computer, Audio Video Hardware, Software & Network Administration:
-
Inventory management and control of hardware, software, and audio/video equipment

Maintain hardware inventory to ensure that it is organized, clean, ready to deploy, and documented
-
Inspect equipment, prepare it for installation, install and verify it is ready for user
-
Perform basic hardware maintenance as needed for Branch hardware including such things as cleaning or replacing consumables for printers, plotters or copiers, replacing keyboards, monitors, ergonomic workstations, audio/video devices, etc.

Image workstations, configure application settings, and verify proper functionality
Inventory & Device Management:

Maintain Branch asset inventory system with accurate identification and location information

Help plan and implement the purchase and management of inventory and replacement equipment

Process surplus equipment for proper disposal
Other Duties:
-
Provide hands-on technical training on hardware and software to computer users
-
Keep current on the latest software and hardware products to maintain a working knowledge of hardware and software products and their capabilities

Responsible for other duties and projects as assigned.
Typically education and experience equivalent to a 2-year degree in computer science or a related field which includes computer-related classes and 2-years of experience directly performing computer or audio/video support. Other combinations of education and/or experience may be considered.
