Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, handle billing and insurance verification, and maintain accurate patient records. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental office management systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare documentation and terminology. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering exceptional patient service.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding front desk customer service
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using Dentrix Ascend
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including third-party payers
Collect payments, process billing, and perform collections as needed
Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently
Maintain accurate dental records, medical records, and documentation review processes in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism and proper phone etiquette
Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing office supplies
Ensure compliance with health information management standards and confidentiality protocols
Perform clerical duties including faxing, mailing, and maintaining organized filing systems

Experience

Prior experience in a dental office or medical administrative support role is highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, insurance verification processes, and health information management systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and dental practice management software such as Dentrix
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
