Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Medical Assistant with X-Ray experience to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide both medical assisting and diagnostic imaging services to support providers in delivering high-quality, efficient patient care in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, assisting with examinations and procedures, performing laboratory testing and injections, and obtaining diagnostic X-rays in accordance with physician orders and established safety standards.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and able to multitask while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compassion. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with providers and staff are essential. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are highly encouraged to apply, as the ability to communicate effectively with our diverse patient population is a valuable asset.

Medical Assistant Duties

Welcome and room patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, chief complaints, medications, and allergies.
Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during medical procedures.
Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKGs, injections, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
Perform point-of-care testing, including rapid tests and urinalysis.
Clean, disinfect, and prepare exam rooms between patients.
Ensure exam rooms remain fully stocked with medical supplies.
Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Provide patient education and discharge instructions as directed by the provider.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Follow OSHA infection control and safety standards.

X-Ray Responsibilities

Perform high-quality X-rays following physician orders and established protocols.
Properly position patients to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
Operate and maintain digital radiology equipment safely and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with all radiation safety standards and regulations.
Verify image quality before submitting studies for provider interpretation.
Maintain accurate imaging documentation within the EMR system.
Assist with equipment quality control and routine maintenance.
Follow all state and facility guidelines regarding radiologic procedures.

Qualifications

Proven experience in urgent care settings with a strong background in limited Xray procedures. At least one year
Certification or licensure in radiologic technology (e.g., ARRT certification) is required;
Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation safety protocols consistently.
Experience working within high-pressure environments
Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and provide compassionate support during stressful situations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual (English/Spanish) – Highly Preferred
Urgent Care experience.
Phlebotomy experience.
Experience performing EKGs and laboratory testing.
Familiarity with Tebra or similar EMR systems.
